The annual meeting of the Appalachian Regional Microscopy Society (AReMS) will be in Boone, N.C. on the campus of Appalachian State University this year during fall break, Oct 19-20. This year, Dr. Francois Amet and Dr. Dan Caton will be featured speakers.

Meeting registration fees include the annual banquet and attendance at the evening social event, that will take place at the Dark Sky Observatory. Offerings from local breweries such as Ivory Tower will be served.

If you have a student engaged in research, encourage them to submit a poster.
The first 15 students who have:

  1. registered for the Fall 2017 meeting and
  2. have submitted a poster abstract will receive a $50.00 award.

In addition, the Willmarth Research Award in the sum of $250, will be awarded to the 'best' poster in both the biological and physical sciences areas as judged by the executive committee. Any interested students may attend the conference and present a poster, but posters eligible for monetary awards must contain microscopy and must be in the areas of physical or biological sciences.
